Fran

Founder and instructor, her love for Pilates is what made Coreworks possible. Fran holds a comprehensive Pilates certification from Balanced Body, and has completed all levels of training on the CoreAlign unit. Additional training was completed through Stott Pilates and PHI Pilates. Fran is also a Licensed Buff Bones Instructor. Fran has been practicing and studying Pilates since 2000.
Fran opened the first Coreworks Pilates Studio in 2003 in order to provide a non-threatening and warm environment for students to exercise and pursue their wellness goals. Fran believes 100 percent in the importance of the mind body and breath connection for increased ease of movement and quality of life.

  • [COL] Tower
  • [COL] This class is held at the Columbia Studio.  Apparatus springs will assist or challenge your workout. Total body resistance workout using Pilates principles. Focus on control of movement. Increase your flexibility, strength, and balance. Suitable for all levels with previous Pilates experience and those who have taken a minimum of 1-3 intro to equipment classes.

  • [COL] Reformer 1 & 2
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  The Reformer utilizes spring resistance to create challenge at times and to provide assistance at other times. This class focuses on building strength and control while focusing on the Pilates principles. For those who have attended a minimum of 1-3 Intro Equipment classes.

  • [COL] Reformer 2 & 3
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  For those with a comfortable understanding of the basics. Learn more challenging exercises including some standing and kneeling exercises. Begin to integrate the tower springs to add challenge. Must have instructor recommendation to participate in this level.

  • [COL] CoreAlign
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio. Part mind-body, part foundation building, part strength and totally unique! This new apparatus improves posture, balance and functional movement. Many standing movements will enhance core stability for any fitness endeavor, and make everyday movement more efficient.  Flexible soled shoes recommended, but not necessary. Mixed level classes.

  • [COL] Barre Sculpt
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  Integrate Pilates principles, yoga, dance conditioning, and muscle sculpting. Using body weight and small weights to high tempo music to strengthen, stretch, and tone all major muscle groups with an aerobic effect. Sculpt the body of a dancer. No dance experience required as this is not a dance class. Suitable for all levels.

  • [COL] Reformer Jumpboard
  • [COL] This class is held at the Columbia Studio.  Use the Jumpboard to elevate your heart rate and burn calories while performing Pilates strength and conditioning exercises and abdominal work. This class has a slightly faster tempo than other reformer classes and is an intermediate level class.

  • [COL] Intro Equipment
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  This is an entry level class to help navigate the various equipment options available including, Reformer, Tower, Chair and CoreAlign. Recommended for all students new to Coreworks. Students should take a minimum of 1-3 sessions prior to taking any other equipment classes.

  • [LS] Intro Equipment
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center. This is an entry level class to help navigate the various equipment options available including, Reformer, Tower, and Chair. Recommended for all students new to Coreworks. Students should take a minimum of 1-3 sessions prior to taking any other equipment classes.

  • [LS] Mixed Pilates Equipment 1 & 2
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center.  This class incorporates all things Pilates, often including the reformer, tower, arc barrel, magic circle, and some mat work. Previous Pilates equipment experience suggested.

  • [LS] Reformer 1 & 2
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center. The Reformer utilizes spring resistance to create challenge at times and to provide assistance at other times. This class focuses on building strength and control while focusing on the Pilates principles. For those who have attended a minimum of 1-3 Intro Equipment classes.

  • [LS] Pilates Mat Challenge
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center.  Pilates is a system of movement that focuses on engaging the mind with the body to create exercises that involve the whole body. Every exercise is performed with attention to breath, proper form and efficient movement patterns. Pilates strengthens the core, improves balance, increases coordination and reduces stress. The mat repertoire will challenge you usign body weight and small props. With small class sizes, this mixed level class will offer variations and modifications to suit all levels.

  • [LS] Tower
  • [LS] This class is held at the Laurel Studio. Apparatus springs will assist or challenge your workout. Total body resistance workout using Pilates principles. Focus on control of movement. Increase your flexibility, strength, and balance. Suitable for all levels with previous Pilates experience and those who have taken a minimum of 1-3 intro to equipment classes.
