Sara

Sara is the Program Director at Coreworks. Sara is a Comprehensively Certified Pilates instructor and Master Instructor with Balanced Body and has also trained with STOTT Pilates, PHI Pilates and the Pilates Coach. In addition to Pilates, Sara is a CoreAlign Master Instructor and runs the Coreworks Mentor Program.  She is a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and a certified Booty Barre instructor.  Sara has been practicing and studying Pilates and yoga since 2000.  Sara brings the variety in her education background to her teaching style and enjoys working with all levels of students. Additionally, Sara works with individuals and small groups to make changes and improve lives as a hypnosis practitioner and meditation teacher.

  • [LS] Pilates Mat Challenge
  • [LAU] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center.  Pilates is a system of movement that focuses on engaging the mind with the body to create exercises that involve the whole body. Every exercise is performed with attention to breath, proper form and efficient movement patterns. Pilates strengthens the core, improves balance, increases coordination and reduces stress. The mat repertoire will challenge you usign body weight and small props. With small class sizes, this mixed level class will offer variations and modifications to suit all levels.

  • [LS] Zen Barre
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center. The perfect blend of strength, flexibility and relaxation. Are you new to the Barre format, want to master the moves, or just prefer a slower, more relaxing and more precise format? This class is for you! Using a slower tempo and controlled movements, the instructor can break down the movements and various positions so you can get the most efficient workout and sculpting effect. Slowing down to be present and reduce mental stress. The class ends with a short final relaxation.

  • [LS] Mixed Pilates Equipment
  • [LAU] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center.  This class incorporates all things Pilates, often including the reformer, tower, arc barrel, magic circle, and some mat work. Previous Pilates equipment experience suggested.

  • [LS] Intro Equipment
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center. This is an entry level class to help navigate the various equipment options available including, Reformer, Tower, and Chair. Recommended for all students new to Coreworks. Students should take a minimum of 1-3 sessions prior to taking any other equipment classes.

  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio. This intermediate to advanced class incorporates all things Pilates, often including the reformer, tower, arc barrel, magic circle, and some mat work. Previous Pilates equipment experience required.

  • [COL] Mixed Pilates Equipment 1 & 2
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  This class incorporates all things Pilates, often including the reformer, tower, arc barrel, magic circle, and some mat work. Previous Pilates equipment experience suggested.

  • [COL] CoreAlign
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio. Part mind-body, part foundation building, part strength and totally unique! This new apparatus improves posture, balance and functional movement. Many standing movements will enhance core stability for any fitness endeavor, and make everyday movement more efficient.  Flexible soled shoes recommended, but not necessary. Mixed level classes.

  • [COL] Barre Sculpt
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  Integrate Pilates principles, yoga, dance conditioning, and muscle sculpting. Using body weight and small weights to high tempo music to strengthen, stretch, and tone all major muscle groups with an aerobic effect. Sculpt the body of a dancer. No dance experience required as this is not a dance class. Suitable for all levels.

  • [COL] Tower
  • [COL] This class is held at the Columbia Studio.  Apparatus springs will assist or challenge your workout. Total body resistance workout using Pilates principles. Focus on control of movement. Increase your flexibility, strength, and balance. Suitable for all levels with previous Pilates experience and those who have taken a minimum of 1-3 intro to equipment classes.
