Sara

Sara is the Program Director at Coreworks. Sara is a Comprehensively Certified Pilates instructor and Master Instructor with Balanced Body and has also trained with STOTT Pilates, PHI Pilates and the Pilates Coach. In addition to Pilates, Sara is a CoreAlign Master Instructor and runs the Coreworks Mentor Program.  She is a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and a certified Booty Barre instructor.  Sara has been practicing and studying Pilates and yoga since 2000.  Sara brings the variety in her education background to her teaching style and enjoys working with all levels of students. Additionally, Sara works with individuals and small groups to make changes and improve lives as a hypnosis practitioner and meditation teacher.

  • [LS] 1 & 2 Reformer
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center. The Reformer utilizes spring resistance to create challenge at times and to provide assistance at other times. This class focuses on building strength and control while focusing on the Pilates principles. For those who have attended a minimum of 1-3 Intro Equipment classes.

  • [LS] Recovery
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center. We work hard and play hard and can forget to plug in and recover or recharge. Using various myofascial release tools, mindful movements, and relaxation practices, this class will help you recover from the physical and emotional stress of our everyday activities. This powerful release work can correct imbalances, improve posture and poor movement patterns as well as reduce your overall stress.

  • [LS] Tower
  • [LS] This class is held at the Laurel Studio. Apparatus springs will assist or challenge your workout. Total body resistance workout using Pilates principles. Focus on control of movement. Increase your flexibility, strength, and balance. Suitable for all levels with previous Pilates experience and those who have taken a minimum of 1-3 intro to equipment classes.

  • [COL] 1 & 2 Mixed Equipment
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  This class incorporates all things Pilates, often including the reformer, tower, arc barrel, magic circle, and some mat work. Previous Pilates equipment experience suggested.

  • [COL] 2 & 3 Mixed Equipment
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio. This intermediate to advanced class incorporates all things Pilates, often including the reformer, tower, arc barrel, magic circle, and some mat work. Previous Pilates equipment experience required.
    Must have instructor recommendation to participate in this level.

  • [COL] Intro Equipment
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  This is an entry level class to help navigate the various equipment options available including, Reformer, Tower, Chair and CoreAlign. Recommended for all students new to Coreworks. Students should take a minimum of 1-3 sessions prior to taking any other equipment classes.

  • [LS] Barre Sculpt
  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center.  Integrate Pilates principles, yoga, dance conditioning, and muscle sculpting. Using body weight and small weights to high tempo music to strengthen, stretch, and tone all major muscle groups with an aerobic effect. Sculpt the body of a dancer. No dance experience required as this is not a dance class.  Suitable for all levels.

  • [LS] 1 & 2 Mixed Equipment

  • [LS] Held at the Laurel Studio in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center. This intermediate to advanced class incorporates all things Pilates, often including the reformer, tower, arc barrel, magic circle, and some mat work. Previous Pilates equipment experience required.

  • [COL] Pilates Mat Challenge
  • [COL] Held at the Columbia Studio.  Pilates is a system of movement that focuses on engaging the mind with the body to create exercises that involve the whole body. Every exercise is performed with attention to breath, proper form and efficient movement patterns. Pilates strengthens the core, improves balance, increases coordination and reduces stress. The mat repertoire will challenge you using body weight and small props. With small class sizes, this mixed level class will offer variations and modifications to suit all levels.
